Ivar Carbon

The raw material required for the product was easily available in this area therefore the client decided to put up this manufacturing unit to produce activated carbon at SIPCOT, Perundurai near Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. 5 Acre plot was selected by the client to come up with around 1.0 Lakh Sq.Ft production unit out of which around 45000 Sq. Ft. is being constructed as phase one.

The biggest challenge in this project was to discharge very high heat generated by two huge kilns. We came up with a solution by designing the PEB roof in a tiered fashion allowing extra space to install louvers at multiple levels. This idea also allowed to optimize the height requirement as per the equipment’s and other spatial needs.  The span and the overall planning of the structure was done considering the process flow, Heavy equipment’s and future expansion.

The land had a high-water table in combination of very hard strata and therefore the site development and structures had to be designed considering these aspects. The admin office is designed in a traditional concept of courtyard which allows natural light and ventilation to penetrate within the structure thus lowering the energy consumption levels.
